Privacy Policy
Last updated July 7, 2026
Caboodle helps you catalog what you own, store it, share it, and get it back. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, reach out. We're happy to explain.
Information we collect
- Account details you give us: name, email, phone, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile from Google.
- Your catalog: the photos, names, descriptions, categories, and values you add for your items, and their status (at home, at the Depot, or lent out).
- Addresses and location you provide for pickups and deliveries, so our drivers can reach your door.
- Payment information for paid plans. Card details are handled by our payment processor; Caboodle does not store full card numbers.
- Usage and device data: basic logs and diagnostics needed to run the service reliably and securely.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: cataloging, storage, pickups and deliveries, and sharing.
- To process payments and manage your plan.
- To communicate with you about your account, deliveries, and support requests.
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To improve Caboodle and build new features.
Sharing your information
Your catalog is private by default. Items and categories are visible to others only when you choose to share them (with a friend, a group, or via a link), and you can change or revoke that access at any time. We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers (for example, payment processing, mapping, and hosting) only as needed to run Caboodle, and when required by law.
Your item photos and content
The photos and details you add are yours. We use them to power your catalog and any sharing you turn on. We don't use your private item content to advertise to you.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we need to keep certain records for legal, tax, or security reasons.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or update your profile and catalog from your account settings.
- Control what you share, and with whom, at any time.
- Request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting us at hello@caboodle.app.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
Children
Caboodle is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Caboodle grows. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
